10 years Laax jubilee.
Tucked away between bushes, flowers and vegetable beds in Berlin’s Rudolph-Wilde-Park, LAAX is not your typical Berlin beer garden. It feels a little hidden. A little unexpected. And very much local. LAAX has built its identity around the idea of keeping things close to home. The beer on tap, Flesser, is brewed in Neukölln. The ice comes from a local supplier. And even the food doesn’t travel far: Fugro grows its oyster mushrooms in Kleinmachnow and turns them into crispy mushroom sandwiches, waffles and snacks that somehow taste even better with a cold beer in your hand.
It’s a place where the neighbourhood is part of the concept — and where a beer garden can feel more like a small ecosystem than a hospitality business.
Bring the print studio to the beer garden
For the anniversary, LAAX commissioned Supercrack to build a fully equipped mobile screen printing station right in the middle of the celebration.
Instead of simply handing guests another piece of branded merchandise, we wanted them to make it themselves.
We brought the complete setup on site: screen, squeegees, ink, drying and curing equipment — everything needed to turn a blank piece of clothing into something personal.
One motif. Hundreds of individual pieces.
The anniversary motif was developed by Supercrack specifically for the occasion.
We kept the artwork bold and simple enough to work across different textiles and formats, while giving it enough character to feel like something you would actually want to wear. The main colour was white — a strong contrast against dark garments and a perfect fit for the slightly raw, analogue character of screen printing. Throughout the day, the print station became part of the celebration itself. People stopped by, watched others print, gave it a try themselves and compared results. Some prints came out perfectly. Others had a little more personality.
And that’s exactly the point.
Screen printing is not a vending machine. You don't just press a button and receive a product.
You make it.
Here, Hands-on creativity meets opportunity.
Guests could choose from T-shirts, bags, vests and hoodies and print the anniversary artwork themselves. One pull of the squeegee. One layer of ink. A little pressure. And suddenly, a blank garment became a souvenir of the day. The prints were cured directly on site, so guests could wear their freshly printed pieces straight away.
No factory. No shipping box. No generic giveaway.
Just people, ink and fabric.
From anniversary souvenir to team uniform
But the story didn't end when the anniversary was over.
The printed motif had worked so well that LAAX decided to take it one step further.
Together, we developed a second illustration and produced a refined version of the anniversary design as a back print. We then printed both onto shirts in a larger production run.
What had started as a one-day guest experience suddenly became something much more permanent:
the Supercracked shirt became the official shirt of the LAAX team
More than 40 employees are now wearing their own version of the shirt — turning an anniversary project into an actual part of the LAAX identity.
And if you're thinking, "I'd wear that too, but I'm not quite ready to get a job at LAAX" — there's good news.
The black Supercracked shirt is also available to everyone.
Which is, frankly, a pretty cool way for a one-day screen printing activation to evolve.
“Supercrack spontaneously organized a T-shirt printing booth for our company party. Many guests were able to bring their own shirts, and Supercrack handled the design, the printing, and everything else. I am very satisfied, and the guests were thrilled as well.”
